Indigenous People

An indigenous person is a person who is a historical antecedent in a particular geographic locale. By antecedent means that the indigenous is one who precludes all else who encounter such a person by means of a voyage or trek by land or sea greater by some degree of distance circumstantially determined by what would prohibit the ordinary journey by foot or vehicle without substantial provisions afforded in foresight.

Somewhat or essentially, an indigenous person is a descendant of ancestors to an ecological niche who has found oneself in the most advantageously biological and cultural situated state of being. This implies that the material and super-organic cultural traits of said person (consequently the plural: persons, since one never lives in complete isolation except for those of the proverbial Robinson Crusoe sort)

1988 Iranian Stamp

In 1988 there was a programmatical/technical error aboard the USS Vincennes as it coasted the waters of the Straight of Hormuz. The stamp to the right illustrates the results of this error: an Iranian passenger plane carrying 290 passengers and 16 crew members is shot down as it flew over Iranian territorial waters. The U.S. payed off over 60 million dollars but never apologizes. This is in the context of the Iran-Iraq war….

….the shame of this event is in the fact that it only exacerbated perhaps already strained relations between western democratic societies and the those emerging capitalist societies of the middle east who are candidate to the process of participation among the greater nations that expostulate the traits of countries of Western Europe and North America. This is a tenuous region…which if harnessed by democracy or at least a culturally appropriated and ideally fitted version of such would secure for its people a liberty and security never before known…ostensibly so if it is at all possible. I’m not one to ever discount the potential of such things for sure.

But in an event such as this, one of many, the proponents of democracy, civil liberty (freedom, security, etc.), and so forth, at a very minimum the comfort of having a foreign nation’s sea battalions stationed in surrounding seas and oceans is ruined. Hence the title for the post: democracy being shot down. It’s crazy. I’m obviously a fan of the play on word exercise. w00t.

Of podcasts and pandiculations

This is how I get through my day. I work, of course, but it’s punctuated by delightful pandiculations that stretch and strengthen the spine, improve my breathing, and soothes the mind. Podcasts, also, are a therapeutic augment to the work. This, I agree, is also quite nourishing and delightful…when found in good quality and consumed in appropriate doses.

I would like to compile a list of my favorite podcasts. Unfortunately, at my first attempt to link up that which is first in order on my list would be a broadcast by the BBC which is not available. I could link to the site and provide a synopsis of the podcast but the actual audio file is not available. Since I downloaded the podcast via I-Tunes it would be possible to isolate the particular section of the podcast using audio-editing software and upload it somewhere (but where?) and then link it up through this emergent blog of mine….hmmmmm. Damn.

Is my personality the plastic? The plastic to the world that dreams of a green future? Hell fuckin’ no. I am the plastic to the ever-worsening world that denies a green future in favor of a masturbatory end. I see a theatre that is a fold that sees pessimism and virtue ironed out of existence and realizeing fine creases of capitalism that define a fatigue of indolence and xenophopic patriotism.

My father and my father were both endowed with creativeness. It is naturally so, then, that I find myself creative and creating, at times. Writing is a lesser trait in respect to myself, but my father is quite a bit more prolific in this endeavor. A poet. I am not a writer, but some might take me as such. Nay, I am a draughtsman.

I am the son of a man who once had three daughters and a boy with the love of his life. The boy went astranged and the daughters…well, to each their own. This is not to say that I myself have gone off the deep end. I have been mediated by the youngest of the three daughters. I am Cheryl’s second son.

New things and awesome things…a shared/symbiotic phenomenon.

Today started as any normal day but ended most phenomenally, in the aforementioned sense: awesome. I rode out with my super to get some art supplies. Thanks to the ailing economy there’s all kinds of shit on sale. I made out with some cheap canvas’. To my great fortune my super spied the [peninsular] Indian market RIGHT next door so we checked it out. I got some coals for my hookah smoking plans and some foodstuffs. One of such is a dish called Pav_bhaji Masala.

Looking this up on the fav-tastic Wikipedia I see it is a dish of the working man. Hurrying along through the day, there was limited time to dine for lunch so this is a hybrid dish of sorts and is ideally served with bread (thus the pav to the bhaji). But it’s acceptable to accompany rice…this I did. It’s incredibly carb heavy so I’m delighted (love my carbs). So here’s to the first delightful new/awesome of the day.

THEN, my super tells me to check out this band: Kings of Convenience. Most righteous. She knows my flavor I guess…an easily read book am I? I deny this. Nonetheless, well, nonetheless indeed. Good day…
